UNIT 11: TRAVELING IN THE FUTURE

READING

I.Read the following passage then decide if the statements are true or false.

The big problem for plane-makers in the future is the size of the airplanes, not their speed. Because the skies are already full of air traffic, some countries are planning to make new super-planes and reduce the number of planes in the skies. Those new planes will be much bigger than the planes we see today, and they will be able to carry up to eight hundred people at one time.

At the moment, a billion people travel on airplanes a year, but this number will be a lot higher by the year 2020. The best way to avoid traffic jam in the skies is to build bigger planes. Plane-makers are working to turn their designs into real super-planes. Ten years from now, we may possibly be travelling on a super-plane for the first time.
